sublingual multi-vitamins Interest in l*iquid or sublingual multi-vitamins*
is on the rise and it’s no wonder. While pills, capsules and tablets may
make up the majority of vitamins available, people are doing their research
to find out if there are other options available to them. Some people have a
hard time taking pills, while others want to make sure they are going to
experience the most benefit as possible for their money. In either case,
liquid vitamins are an excellent alternative. There are many things to
consider when choosing a multivitamin. An important factor to think about is
the vitamins’ absorption rate. According to the 1995 Physicians’ Desk
Reference, intra-oral sprays and sublingual liquids provide a considerably
higher absorption rate (95% and 50%, respectively) than their gel capsule or
pill (30-10%) peers. Based on this fact alone, liquid or sublingual
multi-vitamins provide the best chance to receive optimal results from the
product you’re taking. One of the reasons taking /liquid or sublingual
multi-vitamins/ can produce better results, is because absorbing them is so
much easier on your body. Some people have a hard time breaking down pills
and may even experience an upset stomach shortly after taking their vitamins.
When you take a vitamin in pill or capsule form it has to go through your
digestive system before it’s absorbed, this is called first pass
metabolism. During this process the concentration of the vitamin you’re
taking can be greatly reduced. By taking something in liquid form, you are
“cutting out the middle man” so to speak by not requiring your body to
break down the pill or capsule in order to extract the nutrients, vitamins,
etc. Another reason to consider liquid or sublingual multi-vitamins [1] has
to do with what’s included in the vitamin. If you’re seeking a
multivitamin that includes a lot of ingredients, you may find yourself taking
as many as 4-6 large pills a day, just to get all the vitamins, minerals and
nutrients you’re looking for. If you have a hard time swallowing pills and
decide to cut your pills in half that’s 8-12 pills you’ll be swallowing
each day! When you’re taking an equivalent vitamin in liquid form, chances
are you’ll be taking 1-2 ounces a day. Liquids can be simply added to juice
or a smoothie (or taken straight) to quickly and easily add vitamins to your
everyday routine.
