Apparently, the vitamin drip is âtrending in Hollywood.â A photo tweeted last month by Rihanna with her arm hooked up to an I.V. drip has exacerbated reports that Hollywoodâs latest health fad is âthe party girl drip,â a cocktail of B and C vitamins and minerals like zinc and magnesium taken intravenously. ABC News reports that spas and private clinics are increasingly offering these drips as a way to boost energy or cure hangovers
Other A-list celebrities that have reportedly jumped on the liquid vitamin bandwagon include Simon Cowell, Cindy Crawford and Madonna.
The sessions, which can run $175 to $275, donât offer anything that nutritious food or oral vitamins canâtâ"except for immediacy.
âI.V. is pretty much instant gratification,â Dr. Kamau Kokavi said.
Fine, but: Rihanna did not invent the vitamin drip (like January Jones didnât invent taking human placenta). Here are a few other famous Americans (including a U.S. president) who liked to hit the vitamins C and B-12 a little too hard.Â
