antioxidant supplement This week I’m going to spotlight our wonderful Ultra
*antioxidant supplement*. First I’ll share a definition of antioxidant and
a little explanation of why we need them from Medline Plus: /“Antioxidants
are substances that may protect your cells against the effects of free
radicals. Free radicals are molecules produced when your body breaks down
food, or by environmental exposures like tobacco smoke and radiation. Free
radicals can damage cells, and may play a role in heart disease, cancer and
other diseases.”/ *Vitamin A (as retinyl palmitate)* – According to the
Office of Dietary Supplements, Vitamin A /“supports cell growth and
differentiation, playing a critical role in the normal formation and
maintenance of the heart, lungs, kidneys, and other organs”/ *Vitamin C (as
ascorbic acid, citrus bioflavonoids)* – /“Vitamin C is used most often
for preventing and treating the common cold”/ from WebMD.com *Vitamin E (as
d-alpha-tocopherol acetate)* – /“Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant
that stops the production of ROS (reactive oxygen species) formed when fat
undergoes oxidation.”/ – Office of Dietary Supplements *Selenium (as
amino acid chelate)* – /“Selenium is incorporated into proteins to make
selenoproteins, which are important antioxidant enzymes. The antioxidant
properties of selenoproteins help prevent cellular damage from free radicals.
Free radicals are natural by-products of oxygen metabolism that may
contribute to the development of chronic diseases such as cancer and heart
disease.”/ – Office of Dietary Supplements *Elderberry Sambucus nigra
(fruit) Extract* – Researcher Erling Thom says, /“Elderberry extract
could be an "efficient and safe treatment" for flu symptoms in otherwise
healthy people and for those with compromised immune systems, such as the
elderly,”/ after conducting a study on the affect of Elderberry extract on
flu symptoms. *Acai Berry Extract (Euterpe oleracea mart)* – /“Acai
contains several substances called anthocyanins and flavonoids…
Anthocyanins and flavonoids are powerful antioxidants that help defend the
body against life's stressors. They also play a role in the body's cell
protection system. Free radicals are harmful byproducts produced by the
body.”/ – WebMD.com *Coenzyme Q-10* - /“Antioxidants fight damaging
particles in the body known as free radicals, which damage cell membranes,
tamper with DNA, and even cause cell death. Scientists believe free radicals
contribute to the aging process, as well as a number of health problems,
including heart disease and cancer. Antioxidants, such as CoQ10, can
neutralize free radicals and may reduce or even help prevent some of the
damage they cause”/ – University of Maryland Medical Center These are
just a few of the wonderful ingredients in our Liquid Health Ultra
antioxidant supplement [1]. If you think your body needs a little help
fighting off free radicals, consider this fantastic product which not only
tastes good but also absorbs better than the pills or tablets you may be
thinking about.
